On Monday 2nd March the Year 7 Girl’s rugby team headed to the Leeds Indoor Touch Rugby finals at The Farnley Academy. After huge success in the group stages, with BA girls finishing top of their group, it was time to see what the girls could bring to the finals, with all winners across four groups competing. Bruntcliffe started well, with Imogen Hallas bagging the first try in the opening 30 seconds of the first fixture. Farnley however, were quick to respond and scored a try almost immediately after. The girls were closely matched throughout and the first game ended 1-1. Into the second fixture, again the girls started strong but couldn’t hold onto the win over Allerton Grange. The match finished 2-2. The final game of the tournament was against Corpus. The girls started very strong this time with Imogen and Emma both bagging early tries. Unfortunately, in the last seconds of the game, Corpus clawed back with 2 tries after a fantastic switch of play. Bruntcliffe girls finished joint 2nd with TFA. Well done to all involved!
