On the evening of Thursday 5th December Bruntcliffe Academy opened its doors to eager and enthusiastic students and parents, for an evening of competition and engagement, as part of the PE Department ‘Engage Event’.

Over the course of the evening, students and parents took part in a range of workshops, led by the PE staff, working on their ‘dig and sets’ in volleyball, to flexing their brain muscles in a classroom based maths challenge, and finishing off with a sweaty rowing class.

The event was a chance for students and their parents to gain an insight into what the BTEC Sport course is like, and see how their lessons would be running, if they chose the subject at GCSE. All of the students and parents got fully involved in all activities, and we saw parents dishing out the forfeits for subpar rowing. A fantastic event, that we hope will go from strength to strength as the year goes on!
