November 2018

Dear Parent/Carer

I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you for your generosity in supporting our fundraising for Children in Need. The response to our non-uniform day, and the very popular cake sale raised a fantastic £976. This is simply outstanding and we are very proud to be able to contribute in this way.

We would like to continue to make a difference to the lives of others, and are joining with Radio Aire in launching the Mission Christmas Appeal. Mission Christmas helps to make Christmas Day different! It’s a heart-breaking thought, but there are thousands of children living in West Yorkshire who are in danger of waking up to no presents on Christmas Day. For some families Christmas is a luxury they just can’t afford.

Please help by donating a gift this year.  Simply bring it into school, unwrapped, and give it to Student Reception, and we will collect these up ready to be given out to those children who need it.  Mission Christmas has advised that they have a particular shortfall on gifts for children over the age of 9 and so these would be especially useful to them, although all gifts are very much appreciated.  As well as the gifts we collect, funds raised from our annual Christmas Jumper Day on 13 December will go towards funding additional gifts for those in need through Mission Christmas.

We would like to thank all parents and students for your continued support regarding standards, and helping our young people be all that they can be. They have certainly proved themselves generous, kind and thoughtful, and we are proud of their accomplishments.

Yours faithfully

Claire Fowler
